Kayla & Dyllan ~ Engagements North Central Florida

She is quick to laugh and he can be serious and solid. These two compliment each other so well.  When I was asked to photograph their wedding this summer, I had a small panic attack. You know, that realization that people you’ve known since they were infants are now old enough to be getting married?? Which, in turn, means I’m getting older?? (carefully breathe in and out, reach for a paper bag) I’ve always been old fashioned, I adore old movies, books and stories set in the past, but I can not be getting older… can I?

Anyhow enough whining about me, back to Kayla and Dyllan. These two are just gorgeous together, and so fun to work with. I met them in St. Augustine for some portraits downtown and then over at the beach. We also managed to meet in the flower field one evening. I really enjoyed photographing you two and I’m looking forward to your wedding!

happy valentine’s day!

I try to do at least one photo shoot of my daughter each year…because she’s is growing up so fast. ~reminiscent sigh~ So, this year I saw a lot of cute ideas for Valentine photos and decided to take that approach. I took her shopping for a cute outfit, but I’m so practical it must be something she can realistically wear later. She was all about accessories and wanted some crazy necklace (which was way too long for her)….so I managed to talk her into a headband…she LOVES headbands. If there is one thing I can tell you about photographing children, it is to get them involved in the shoot early. Let them pick the type of shoot and/or clothing for it (with some guidance). When I explained the idea to my daughter and then let her help in picking the clothes, she was completely on board.

I could not be happier with the results.

XOXOXO!

sunshiny day | northeast florida photographer

It was a gorgeous day! The kind that just makes me want to stay outside the entire day. It was perfect, for a picnic, a walk…..a nap. That was the type of day it was when I met with this sweet family to do their portraits.

They were such a pleasure to photograph! (I can relate to them, because we only have one child also.) It was a gorgeous day, the family was so laid back and I really enjoyed myself. Thank you for allowing me to capture your memories!

post-holidays

After the Christmas holiday filled with cooking, visiting, multiple family gatherings…it’s hard to get back to “normal.” However, I’m trying to slow back down…I’ve been swamped, sick and just plain busy. So, these images are late in being posted. This sweet family and I have been trying to schedule a session for a while now. We were finally able to match up our calendars and get some great family portraits.

I have so much more to share, check back soon and Happy New Year!
